I traveled from Napa, CA back to my hometown in Indianapolis for Rebecca + Greg. My lovely bride had two of my weaknesses…beautiful invitation suites and flowing florals.
We stopped by the Indianapolis Museum of Art before the ceremony actually. (This post is deceiving.) They chose to see each other beforehand privately and then proceed to take portraits together. When I title this as a rainy wedding in Indy, I cannot stress to you HOW serious I am. Shooting in film give such grace in terms of color and highlights helping it to not look so dreary and dull. I use a “Think Tank” as my camera gear bag and thankfully it just looks like a suit case – wide and sturdy enough to stand on if I need to be taller for a photograph and also a makeshift bench to shield from the elements. Its a rolling bag and not a small one so after we picked a place each time I would fold Rebecca’s dress behind her and place it on my camera bag. Here, in the next photo they are walking but not before meticulously giving Greg instruction on how to help carry her dress. We took only two photos in this spot because we didn’t want umbrellas in the image and … here they are! Ha!
Drawing a little family element by incorporating homemade pies in lieu of cake.
